Lenten Liturgy

During the season of Lent there are customary seasonal modifications to the liturgy.

Most significantly, the ‘Gloria in Excelsis’ is replaced by the more solemn ‘Trisagion’ (three holies), the Alleluia is omitted throughout the liturgy and reserved until our celebration of the Resurrection, as is the Blessing.

Throughout Lent we use the Apostles Creed, which is the creed used at Baptism, focusing on it in preparation for the renewal of our Baptismal vows on Easter Day.
