Former Assistant Bishop of Canberra & Goulburn, Richard Randerson, reflects on 50 years as priest and bishop in Australia and New Zealand, with an extended chapter on his time in Canberra and the Australian Church. Other chapters address issues of poverty and socio-economic justice, ethics in the public square, the same-sex relationships debate in both Church and society since the 1970s, a critique of Richard Dawkins and the current atheistic surge around the world, and a lament for the largely silent voice of the Church in contemporary public debate.
