Discovery @ St Paul’s is in recess until we meet again on the last Wednesday of January, 31st.
The Rector thanks everyone involved in the magnificent Carol service on Tuesday night, especially Matthew Stuckings, our Director of Music, our organists Chris Erskine and Mary Anne Neilsen, the choir, musicians and all who came.
The Summer issue of Community (No.42) is now available for reading in full colour on St Paul’s web site here.
Printed copies will be distributed at services on Sunday. This issue offers coverage of a range of events: the Bible display, the fete, a reflection on Martin Luther 500 years and other features.
The editor thanks parishioners for their contributions in many ways.
Parish connected children, teenagers and their friends are welcome to join the children’s choir which will sing at the 6pm service on Christmas Eve.
Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Commitment is one rehearsal on 23rd December from 4-5pm and to arrive on 24th December at 5.30 for the 6pm service.
Each year we contribute the collection at the St Paul’s Carols to the Christmas Bowl.
If you were unable to attend the Carol service there are Christmas Bowl envelopes at the back of the church for placement on the collection plate.
Farewell and Celebration: Hartley Hansford is celebrating the 50th anniversary of his priesting on 17th December.
We are also farewelling Kelvin on this day. Please bring a plate to share after the 10am service.
The Op Shop will be closed until the third Friday in January.
Christmas gifts for children and teens can be brought to church on the first three Sundays in Advent.
The gifts will be distributed by Anglicare to young people who might otherwise miss out. Please leave your unwrapped gift under the Christmas tree in St Paul’s to ensure it is given to an appropriate person.
The last day for collection of gifts is 17th December.
